High Ability English
GATE High Ability English Programme® P1 – P3
Programme scope:
- General Knowledge– current affairs & oral communication
- Core Module– Focus on grammar skills & school syllabus
- Enrichment Module– Our students will hone their skills in vocabulary, comprehension, and cloze Students will be exposed to advanced writing techniques.
Our High Ability English programme P1-P3 focuses on the development of critical reading and reasoning skills which will enable students to use higher order thinking strategies to analyse and comprehend different genres of challenging passages.
Grammar rules and conventions are further emphasized through the reading of texts and writing. Every week, new challenging words are integrated into the texts and revision is done regularly to ensure that students are building up a strong vocabulary bank.
Lessons are planned with thought-provoking and interesting themes to able students to engage in meaningful and deep discussions. These discussions are critical in developing our students’ knowledge of current affairs and scientific discoveries and issues around them.
It prepares students for:
- High Ability class selection tests /1-2% Subject based talent class selection tests (MOE schools)
- Skills required for challenging upper primary school curriculum and PSLE
- English competitions and international assessment (Essay Competitions, Creative Writing Camps)
GATE High Ability English Programme® P4 – P6
Programme scope:
- Fundamentals – Builds students’ language skills by exposing them to intensive practices of grammar rules, synthesis and transformation conventions, editing, grammar cloze passages and editing exercises.
- Critical Reading Skills– Focuses on nurturing students’ critical reading skills with a focus on comprehensionand cloze passage.
- Writing skills – Develop our students’ writing abilities and apply them into various situational contexts and narrative writing styles.
- Oral and listening – English oral and listening practice are integrated to our curriculum to prepare students for school exams.
- PSLE common mistake module – Our PSLE Preparation Module targets upper primary students with detailed explanations of common mistakes to enhance their exam performance and reduce errors
- DSA module – Enhances English literature skills in poetry, non-fiction, and argumentative essays, preparing students for the DSA English exam and secondary school

GATE High Ability Math Programme® P1 – P3
Programme scope:
- Core Module – School math at advanced level – 30%
- Enrichment Module – Mathematical reasoning/Complex problem solving skills – 60%
- General Ability Module – Non-verbal reasoning (Visual/spatial, logic) – 10%
GATE Math program is designed for high ability learners who are motivated to learn beyond school curriculum, investigate and solve complex math problems at competitive standard.

GATE High Ability Math Programme® P4 – P6
Programme scope:
- Core Module – School math at advanced level (PSLE & High Ability curriculum combined) – 70%
- Enrichment Module – Math competition and DSA Math – 30%
GATE Math program is designed for high ability learners who have the aptitude to master both PSLE and high ability curriculum. GATE Math programme at upper primary school level exposes the high ability learners to various levels of competitive math questions to prepare them for the math competitions (NMOS by NUS High, SMOPS by Hwa Chong, RI Math Competition by RI).
It prepares students for:
- Challenging questions in school exams (including high ability and talent class) and PSLE AL1
- Math competitions (Olympiad math-NMOS/SMOPS/RI Math, Australian Math Competition, American Math Competition)
- DSA math test
High Ability Science
GATE High Ability Science Programme® P1 – P3
Designed for the Science enthusiasts (7-9 yr old)
Accelerated | Inspiring | Early exposure to Olympiad Science and DSA Science
Programme Focus:
- MOE primary science curriculum in an accelerated mode (1-2 years ahead of school syllabus)
- Critical thinking skills required for future science research
- Science knowledge beyond textbooks, ready for Olympiad Science
Our programmes aims to help students master essential analytical and inference skills for them to excel in school science exams and science Olympiad; at the same time, high ability students can explore topics beyond school syllabus to broaden their knowledge and develop experimental techniques through our specially designed activity-based projects.
- Accelerated School Science Core Module: school topics, notes with practice questions. E.g. Mycology (Fungi and microorganism), Cell biology (Cell structure), Phytology (flowering and non- flowering plants), Materials, etc.
- Enrichment Module: Beyond school science syllabus, exposure to advance level Science concepts (physics, biology, chemistry) and cutting-edge Technology. Inspire students to explore further in the field they are interested.
- Hands-on activities Module: e.g. “I am a gastroenterologist”, “Let it Float”, “DIY Lantern”, “My botany maze”, “Little Forensic Scientist”, “My mycology Lab”, “Can you spot it?”
GATE High Ability Science Programme® P4 – P6
GATE Science Programme prepares students for both school exams (PSLE AL1) and the DSA science subject test which goes beyond the PSLE syllabus. Our specially designed PSLE keywords drill focused on exam techniques will enable students to score well in PSLE. In addition to the PSLE science syllabus, we enrich our curriculum with additional modules at an advance level (chemistry, biology and physics) to cater to the DSA science test and various science competitions.
- Core Module: Covers key topics in the MOE Syllabus in an accelerated manner, focus on PSLE keywords
- Enrichment Module: Integrate competition science and DSA subject test module for high ability leaners. Combined science (Physics, Biology, Chemistry) will be integrated into enrichment module.
