Junior Olympiad Math & Science Camp (7-8 y.os)

Gain exposure to international Math & Science competition

Learning Objective:

Develops critical thinking skills to prepare children for future Olympiad math and science competitions and high ability tests. The camp focuses on problem-solving skills and includes a strong combination of both IQ Math and Science components to engage children in a holistic learning environment.

Target:

Foundation for Kangaroo Math Competition G1/2
Foundation for Australian Math Competition (middle primary level) Foundation for Johns Hopkins University CTY selection at G2 Foundation for Olympiad Science (lower primary)
Foundation for ICAS UNSW Math and Science competition

Pre-requisites (minimum):

  • Excel at school math
  • Keen interest in math and science
  • Strong cognitive skills and potential to manage competition level of questions

Duration: 1.5 hours x 4 days, Total 6 hours per camp

Age: 7 – 8 years old

Junior English Creative Writing Camp (7-9 y.os)

Learning Objective:

The camp will equip children with writing skills that are suitable for both school-based requirements as well as personal development. It will bring students through the creative writing process (plot development & characterization) to help them to develop their individual writer’s voice and craft out their own unique short stories independently.

Target:

Prepare students for English essay writing tasks (IB)
Foundation for Essay/Writing competitions (Common Wealth Essay Competitions, ICAS UNSW English Writing Competitions)

Pre-requisites (minimum):

  • Able to speak fluent English
  • Able to write English Essays (Junior: min 300 words; Senior: min 500 words)

Duration: 1.5 hours x 4 days, Total 6 hours per camp

Age: 6 – 8 years old

Senior English Creative Writing Camp (10-12 y.os)

Learning Objectives:

  • Prepares students for essay competitions and composition examination.
  • Students will learn how to develop their own unique yet realistic storylines and use advanced writing techniques to craft out descriptive essays

Target:

Prepare students for English essay writing tasks (IB)
Foundation for Essay/Writing competitions (Common Wealth Essay Competitions, ICAS UNSW English Writing Competitions)

Pre-requisites (minimum):

  • Able to speak fluent English
  • Able to write English Essays (Junior: min 300 words; Senior: min 500 words)

UK Verbal & Non Verbal Camp (7-8 y.os & 9-10 y.os)

Learning Objectives:

Prepare students for verbal and non-verbal reasoning tests (IQ related tests), which are usually conducted by top UK / US boarding schools (admission tests) and Johns Hopkins University CTY (selection tests).

Camp covers both verbal (words related) and non-verbal (visual, logical, spatial) reasoning questions.
